In a fight against job cuts, the British Airways cabin crew is said to have seen a major defeat yesterday. Soon after BA revealed a profit worth £158million, the decision is said to have been made.
Some effort had to be made in order to invalidate the crippling £750million losses in place, when the action had been launched by the Unite union.
The cabin crew too is determined to put a full stop to the long running dispute over pay and working conditions. This is believed to be one of the reasons behind the decision.
Some round of strikes are being expected this Christmas only if the offer by the airlines is thrown out, also the ballot results would be out this month.
"We are pleased with the judgment, confirming the modest changes we made to onboard crew numbers", said BA.
Boss Willie Walsh is said to have claimed that the airline will run a near-full service in the event of more strikes. BA was made to spend as much as £150million, as a result of 22 days of strike action earlier this year by Unite.
The courts decision to cut the number of attendants on some routes is said to have resulted in triumph for BA.
