With an excellent background in aerospace and manufacturing, John Rishton, the Head of Dutch retailer Ahold is due to replace Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce, John Rose.
Rolls Chairman Simon Robertson, said that John Rishton had a very well proven track record and that he was sure that the man who had been a Chief Executive of a global Company would do an outstanding job.
Rishton who had earlier held senior positions at the Ford Motor Company is being said to be the unanimous choice of the board. He has also worked as the Chief Financial Officer of British Airways, for as many as four years. This was before he joined Ahold in 2006.
CEO Rose who is due to retire in March 2011 was appointed as the Chief Executive in 1996 and had joined the Company in the year 1984. He was the board member of Rolls-Royce in the year 1993.
Rolls Chairman Simon Robertson said "With John (Rose) at the helm, the group has developed into a truly global Company; it has built a powerful portfolio, and constructed a platform from which we expect revenues to double in the decade ahead”.
It’s been almost 14 years that Rose has been working for Engine giant Rolls-Royce. Robertson is said to have paid tribute to Sir John's ‘leadership, strategic vision and tenacity’, for his 26-year career with the FTSE 100 Index-listed firm.
